These moves stem from Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdoğan’s increasingly interventionist policy towards Arab states and the Mediterranean region. The escalating dispute puts the EU in …

Turkey is today under the influence of the Muslim Brotherhood and it has become an aggressive state which seeks to the a standard bearer of Islamists and extremists in the wider region of Middle East and North Africa say, in his exclusive interview in “To Vima”, Dr. Anwar Gargash. The deal would include up to 50 of the Lockheed Martin-made jets at a cost of $10.4 billion, a congressional aide said. If the sale is completed, the UAE would become only the second country in the Middle East to fly the advanced fighter jets after Israel.

Greece, Israel, Cyprus boost strategic economic and security partnership – New Europe

The Greek Foreign Minister slammed new illegal actions by Turkey. “Within a few short days, Turkey is once again taking actions aimed at undermining any prospect of constructive dialogue, unlawfully reserving areas within the Greek continental shelf for illegal seismic surveys, or other provocative actions, such as the Turkish Vice-President’s illegal visit to occupied Varosha, a flagrant breach of the relevant Resolutions of the UN Security Council,” he said.

“We have unequivocally condemned these actions. These developments were certainly discussed during my talks with my counterparts yesterday and today. The common denominator of these talks was that ways to halt the aggressiveness and destabilising role played by Turkey must be found — but always within the framework of international legality,” Dendias said.

Confront Erdogan – The Jerusalem Post

Previous generations have seen what happens when countries try to inflame religious hatred and violent extremism, and Turkey’s current ruler is not only destabilizing the Middle East by buying Russia’s S-400s anti-aircraft missile system, working with Iran, threatening Israel and trying to stir up divisions in Europe. He has also created scapegoats at home, removing Kurdish mayors and stoking tensions against opposition parties, jailing people for tweets and harassing and jailing journalists.

While Ankara compares today’s Europe to the days when it was dominated by fascism in the1930s, a more reasonable comparison would be to observe the rhetoric now being heard from Ankara, and the toxic blend of religion, populism, far-right politics and ethno-nationalism.

How Turkey manufactured a ‘crisis’ with France over ‘cartoons’ – The Jerusalem Post

Turkey’s media is almost all pro-government and linked to the ruling party in Turkey because Ankara has imprisoned the most journalists in the world, silencing all dissent. This means that articles at TRT or Anadolu reflect the narrative put out by Ankara every morning, closely coordinated with the AK Party. There is no criticism of Turkey’s leadership in major media in Turkey, so every crises with countries like France can be pushed systematically from the top down. In this case Turkey revealed its narrative two days before the President pushed this story of “Muslims are the new Jews of Europe.”

Living in Azerbaijan as a Jew versus being Jewish in Armenia – The Jerusalem Post

It is a well-known fact that there was virtually no antisemitism in Azerbaijan. On October 8, Ashkenazi Jews living in Azerbaijan gathered to pray for the victory of Azerbaijan’s army in the war for Nagorno-Karabakh. I think all Jewish communities of Azerbaijan – Mountain Jews and Georgian Jews – should join this prayer. Azerbaijan’s Ashkenazi …

Erdoğan’s costly ‘Make Turkey Great Again’ program – BESA – Jewish News Syndicate

Commenting on Erdoğan’s overseas military ambitions, François Mitterand’s adviser Jacques Attali tweeted: “We have to hear what Erdoğan says, take it very seriously and be prepared to act by all means. If our predecessors had taken the Führer’s speeches seriously from 1933 to 1936, they could have prevented this monster from accumulating the ways and means to do what he had announced.”

But Erdoğan can only accomplish his goals with the resources of a wealthy and mighty nation at his disposal. “This is Turkey’s Achilles heel,” said Ellis. “Foreign investors are fleeing, COVID-19 has crippled tourism and Moody’s has downgraded Turkey’s credit rating to B2, putting Turkey on a level with Egypt, Jamaica and Rwanda.”
